The More We Get Together, The Happier We'll Be

By rachellow · April 24, 2010 · 0 Comments ·

2 days ago, Chinny got on the plane and flew to......KOREA! She'll be there on a free & easy holiday (not 9D7N like mine but..) for five whole weeks. Envious, I am. I very much want to travel abroad for a long period of time (1~2 months?), but that'll have to wait - won't it?

:) and :(

:) because I know she's going to love it there as much, or more than I did (at least I hope so! :x)
:( because I'll be short of one companion for the next 35 days and I'm going to miss having her around.

I'm glad she has arrived in Korea safely and I feel as though I'm part of her trip because she has been uploading pictures to share with Kylie and I. Yay to that!

Within two weeks of my return and her departure, we've met up quite a bit conquering more place, more food. Here are some pictures to share.

We were at Vivo City and when you're at Vivo, you have to have Yigloo :):) After strolling around and trying on clothes that we didn't purchase, we dined at The Soup Spoon and each ordered a bowl of soup, with salad to fill our stomachs! Another must-do at Vivo, is to purchase bread from Provence. Their bread(s), two thumbs up! Really soft and every bite makes you go mmmmm...!! These shops are paying me for advertisement by the way.

Look here! Have you heard of Hairloom & Caramel? There, you can choose to do two things. (1) Have a really tasty meal/dessert; or (2) Have a haircut!

What did the 3 of us choose to do? Option 1 of course! ;) From 12pm ~ 3pm, there's a Lunch Special going on, so with your discounted meal ($1 or $2 cheaper than usual), you get a free drink as well! Cool or what.

Top Left: 2 Cups of Cream Soda + 1 Camomile Tea
Top Right: Baked Penne with Ham & Cheese in Cream Sauce
Bottom Left: Spaghetti with Salmon in House Special Pink Sauce
Bottom Right: Unagi Sandwich with Crispy Seaweed and Sesame in Japanese Mayo

I really ENJOYED myself there and would love to return there again someday (soon?!) Who wants to hop along with me! Oh right. I'm going to show you the interior, because I absolutely love the setting there :) Pictures from their website :)

There are loads more from their site, but go down and have a look for yourself!

Location?
Hairloom & Caramel
100 Beach Road
#01-50/52 Shaw Towers
Singapore 189702

--------------------------------------------------------------------

While you're at Shaw Towers, you may want to take about 60, 70 steps (??) to Tom's Palette Ice Cream.

Tom’s Palette is located at:
100 Beach Road #01-25
Shaw Leisure Gallery S(189702)

I think their ice-cream prices are cheaper, compared to other stores out there, and they always have new incredible flavours (click to see their many, many flavours!) I tried their Chocolate and Nuts & Such ice-cream that day, and WHOA, loved it to bits yo! Again, let's return someday :)

Heard of Keppel Island? I've never heard or known about this place, until my friend mentioned about this place. After food, the explorers (HA!) made their way to Keppel Island, of which Rachel had no idea how it looked like @ all. So dear friends out there, in case you're just like me, allow me to share with you, this beautiful place which literally, blew me away :P (the wind was REALLY STRONG!!)

From the bus stop, it's a 10 minute walk in. The sun was blazing, but thank goodness for the strong wind as we approached Keppel Bay Bridge. Places surrounded by water, they're normally windy aren't they??

This day, I met up with F&B friend (wrooong, if you think F&B represents Food & Beverage). We share the same love for sushi, fresh oyster with a drizzle of lemon, not forgetting our raw sliced fish! So most of the time, when we meet for dinner, we opt for sushi buffet - to eat to our heart's content. I went over to her place after our meal, and HOORAY because I got to see her two adorable nephews :):):)

At ION Orchard, Kyl, Chinny & I went to Watami Japanese Dining (#B3-23) for dinner. My meal was a 'fun meal' because .....

....just because :)

This was my first time going to King Albert Park's McDonalds - I know, cannot make it right. Seems like everyone else in the world has been there before except me :x But I'm so glad we had breakfast that morning together :) The food, the music, everything's better when you're with the right company (in the words of my lovely, lovely darlings).

Another gathering for the Girl Guides :) This time at Chinese Box, some Chinese restaurant located within the NUS Campus. The menu item really cracked me up...how so?

Check out the Merlion Fried Rice:

Put 1 miserable merlion there = Merlion Fried Rice :D

Other dishes??

These are pictures from my $39.71 meal. I felt as though I was attending a wedding dinner, though it was a tad fun? Haha. The food's pretty good, but not the most convenient place for someone (who gets lost easily) like me :P
